TCO Launch Major League Baseball zine
This month TCO London launched the first in an innovative and beautiful series of print zines in collaboration with Major League Baseball - which is coming to London in June 2019 with a groundbreaking regular season series between Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees.
The 108, which is named after the number of stitches in a regulation baseball, brings together innovative type, illustrative and photo treatments in a high impact, lo-fi execution to place the classic MLB brand in the context of contemporary London.
Each of the quarterly zines is accompanied by a music event, the first one of which features LA’s Peanut Butter Wolf and New York’s Mister Saturday Night.
To reflect the music events and the multilayered texture of America and its national sport, heavyweight writers like Tim Lawrence and Don DeLillo are engaged, as well as artist Raymond Pettibon, Sophie Mo and Mickey Gibbons, to tell the story of contemporary American cities and their relationship to Baseball culture. Forthcoming editions feature the music and culture of Detroit and Chicago - and early next year the 'Dirty South' is explored in uncoated Deboss.
