Ardbeg: Bizarre-BQ World Tour
— The Challenge —
The ‘Bizarre-BQ’ project is a continuation of ’Ardbeg Smoke Sessions’ which centres around the union of two smoke-obsessed cultures: Ardbeg, famed for being one of the smokiest single malt whiskies available, and BBQ food.

This series champions iconic pitmasters from across the globe in an epic travel series for foodies, about pushing BBQ to new extremes, championing the extraordinary & finding exciting ways to partner whisky with iconic BBQ dishes.
Hosted by pro pitmaster DJ BBQ (AKA Christian Stevenson), we take the audience on a wild journey from Atlanta, Georgia to sample Veef brisket at the only vegan BBQ joint in America. We then travel across the states to freezing cold Buffalo, New York to try classic BBQ combined with delicious Indian flavours, and all the way back to Wales, United Kingdom to feast on gorgeous Salt Marsh Lamb cooked on a ginormous BBQ flipper. DJ BBQ conjures up three distinct Ardbeg whisky cocktails to compliment each dish, making for an entirely unforgettable smoky experience.

“At Ardbeg, we know our whisky isn’t for everyone – but its big, bold, and infamously smoky flavour attracts a level of passion above and beyond anything that a typical whisky brand gets to enjoy. In this series, we wanted to work with TCO and DJ BBQ to celebrate the smoke-obsessed weirdos of the world: to elevate chefs from around the globe who are doing interesting things with smoky flavours; to complement their mouth-watering meals with delicious new Ardbeg cocktails; and to share the smoky joy of Ardbeg with Ardbeg fans and new whisky drinkers alike.”
